Montpelier (Vermont): A Canadian man is allowed to enter the United States by just showing a copy of his passport in the iPad.

Martin Reisch drove two and a half hour from his home in Montreal before realizing he suddenly left the passport at home.

Upon arrival at the border, Reisch, 33, tried his luck with a copy of his passport by showing that there is stored in the iPad to the officer on duty at the border checkpoints.

Reisch claimed that he was on his way to Vermont to deliver Christmas gifts to their children there.

“After driving so much, why do I try his luck with a chance to show a copy of your passport in the iPad,” he said.

According to Reisch, U.S. immigration officials examine a copy of the passport is approximately five minutes before wish him merry Christmas.

“Although was happen in a short time, but I think it was very long,” he said.

According to Reisch, he actually forgot to bring your passport and not simply looking for trouble.

In fact, he said, he brought with him a driving license and be shown to officials at the border.

Following the incident, Reisch said he will make sure not to leave your passport at home when out.

Since 2009, Canadians need to show more of a driving license to enter US.
